Data use and storage are outlined below. No personal data from horse owners / carers or clinic personnel are required nor will they be collected. Data will be stored according to UK General Data Protection Regulations.

How will clinic data be collected?

Online via a secure, confidential login that is known only by authorised individual clinic personnel and authorised members of the INCISE study team.

How will data be stored?

The data will be stored at the University of Liverpool, UK on a password protected computed that is accessible only to authorised members of the INCISE study team. Participating clinics will be responsible for storage of their own, anonymised data.

How long will data be stored for?

10 years

Will data be anonymised?

Yes. All data will be anonymised prior to analysis and publication. Care will be taken to ensure that data will be reported such that individual clinics will not be identifiable.

Who will have access to my data?

The data in its raw form will only be accessible to an authorised member of the INCISE team at the University of Liverpool who will be monitoring recording of colic cases and study conduct. Data will be re-anonymised prior to reporting and analysis by the INCISE study team and co-investigators.

Will data be archived for use in other research projects in the future?

Yes, in its anonymised form for the purposes of clinical audit only.

Clinical Ethics

The INCISE project has been reviewed and approved by the University of Liverpool Veterinary Ethics committee (VREC739). If you wish to request further details, please contact the study team via the home page.
